Clutch Inc.
We do the right things in the right order. We look at the business process issues and underlying software development needs. The thinking and planning are done up front, before it's too late.
We think it is smarter to keep things fluid at the front end of the process. We mold the technology around the design. This means that we never get into a situation where someone says,"You can't change that, that's the way the code works."
Applications and sites are designed and mapped out entirely before any code has been written. It's so much easier to play what-ifs with software user interfaces when you don't have a major investment in coding time. The purpose of this exercise is to drive discussion and make us think on a deeper level about the problems facing users.
Most firms just look at the requirements and visually style what's handed to them. They don't soak, wash, rinse and repeat. We live with the problem; we dream about it and throw ideas up in the air. We believe in a process that lets you try new things and keep moving forward.
In the course of picturing what is possible, all of a sudden a whole new crop of possibilities may drop out of the sky. With the process we use, this is a good sign that things are working.
Clutch isn't married to any particular programming languages. For us, programming languages are nothing more than tools–and we have a big toolbox. Our job is to find the right functional and conceptual approach to the problem and then find the right tool for the job.
